Account Settings
How To Create an Effi Account
Thank you for choosing Effi. So you want to get started with our services. It is quick and simple to create a free account with Effi. First step is to locate our home page at www.effi.co. In the top right corner click the button that says “Use it for Free.” After clicking this button you will be redirected to a sign-up page. Fill out the form as directed. Then you will see a quick survey. This helps us tailor our product to our customers. So you can get the best service. Last step is an email confirmation that will be sent to you after the survey (unless you sign up with Google, then there will be no email verification). Welcome to Effi!
How to Sync Web and App
Now that you have an account on the web, optimize your Effi experience by utilizing the Effi app available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Simply login in with the username and password you created on Effi web and enjoy fast media sync from your mobile device to your PC.

How to Delete an Account
It is always sad to see someone leave. However we understand that needs change. If you ever need to delete your Effi account you can do it in seconds. First find your name located in the top right of the PC screen. Click on it. You should be redirected to a invitations screen. In the top right corner there is a link that says “Delete this account.” Click that and your done. We believe in simplicity here at Effi. We want to reduce stress not create it. So if you need to leave you can anytime. Please leave us a review on the app store so we can improve our service to others.
Projects and Folders
How to Rename a Project or Folder
To rename a project or folder click the circle with the ellipse inside located to the right of the title. A drop-down menu will appear. Select “rename” and began to type your new desired title. To complete press enter on your keyboard.
How to Delete a Project or Folder
You can delete a project or folder by clicking on the circled ellipses next to the title. You will be presented with a drop down menu. Click “Leave this Project” and project will be deleted from your dashboard. If the project is on other people’s dashboards, they will still be able to access it. It is just removed from yours. Repeat this process for a folder.
How to Create a Project or Folder
If you are just starting in effi, you will see an untitled Project and an untitled Folder. To create more projects click the “+ Create a new project” in the light gray box on the effi web dashboard. You will be presented with two options: whether to make an Effi only Project or a JIRA Sync Project. Choose the one you wish to create. An empty Project will appear. Give the project a new title. The projects and folders are arranged alphabetically and can not be rearranged. Projects and folders that start with special characters and numbers will be placed at the top. The Jira Sync Projects will be placed above Effi only projects. If the project Zebra disappears from view when you hit enter make sure to check the bottom of the page before panicking.
Folders are much the same way. To create a new folder within a project locate the black “+” sign at the far left of the folder. When clicked a new folder should appear. Title the folder and press enter.
How to Share a Project
Sharing is a vital part of our software and we would like to make that as simple for you as possible. First scroll to the project you wish to share. Next to the project title there is an outline of a head with a circled plus line on the right shoulder. Clicking the button will lead to an invite screen. In the search bar at the top enter an email address (one that is connected to an Effi account) and click invite. The email should appear below the search bar when the invitation is accepted.
In order for a team member to see your shared project. The other party must accept the invite by clicking the green check mark on their project invitation. The invitation should appear at the top of their dashboard in a white box containing the Project title, date, and who is sharing it.
How to Sync with Jira (one-way)
Jira sync can only be down with sync to Jira processed projects. You are given one to start with and have the option to create more. These projects are shown on the app as having a blue sync with Jira title and on the PC as having a sync icon next to the Project title. You can sync with JIRA by pressing the sync icon.
You will then be redirected to a sync screen where you will be asked to enter in your JIRA information. From there choose your desired settings and click sync. Your Effi reports will then appear in Jira.
Tasks
How to Create a Task
There are three ways to create a task: mobile upload, task with image, or task with no image. If you uploaded an image from your mobile device the task should already be created and can be found in the folder you selected on your app. If you would like to create a task on the PC first click the folder you would like to place the task in. In the top left corner under the Effi logo, there will be a red box with a plus sign in the corner. Click that image to open a new task.
You will be presented with a dark gray box. If you would like to upload an image, you have the option of copy and pasting directly or uploading from your computer. If you would like to upload from your computer click the blue image icon at the top of the gray box. If you would like to insert an empty note simply click the black text icon in the top right of the grey box.
How to Delete a Task
Deleting is a must need. What if your hand slips and you upload the fun Friday night you had instead of Friday morning notes. We all make mistakes. It super easy to delete a task that does not have a comment. All you have to do is click the little garbage can that appears next to the thumbnail image in the top scroll bar. If you have a comment you won’t be able to delete the task.
How to Reorganize Tasks
Reorganizing tasks is no simple click and drag. There are a few steps. First click on the photo stream thumbnail of the task you would like to move. Next to the thumbnail should be the outline of two arrows in between a folder outline and a trash can outline. Clicking the two arrows will open a pop-up screen. This screen is our task moving screen. On the top are two options “to the left of” and “to the right of” that describe where the folder will be placed. Then click on one of the tasks pictured that you would like to move your task to left of or to the right of. Once all selections are chosen click on the move button to replace your task.
How to View Closed / Holding / Canceled Tasks
When you change your task status to closed, holding, or cancelled does the task just disappear? The answer is no. It becomes archived. When you first open a folder you are automatically shown all “active” tasks – tasks that are new, waiting, working, or resolved. To view your archives simply click along the status bar right below the dark blue header. If you only want to view new tasks click new. If you only want to view canceled task click canceled and so on. You can also view only tasks assigned to you by clicking on the “my tasks” section near the status bar or switch back by pressing “all tasks.”
Point and Comment
How to Comment on Effi Web
To place a comment all you have to do is click on the spot you would like to bring attention to on your image. A red dot will instantly appear under your mouse as well as an attached gray box that says “Write QA.” Began typing your comment. No extra click necessary. Assign a team member if you would like with the drop down arrow at the bottom of the box. When finished hit “OK” and your comment will be posted to the side of the image.
How to Respond to a Comment
Responding is as simple as two clicks. Under the comment you want to respond to you will find a bubble box with the word “comment” in it. Click this and a text box will drop down. After typing your response click the save button to post.]
How to Change a Comment's Status
Status is a great way to keep track of your team and your’s progress. To change a comment’s status simply click on the “New” button right above the comment’s text. This will open a pop-up window where you can click on the status you wish to change too.
How to Edit a Comment
You can edit a comment simply by clicking the pencil icon at the end of your text. Once you make all necessary changes click anywhere outside the text-box to save.
Other Features
How to Edit Screen Information
You can add a screen title or some additional information like OS/Device information, a Dropbox URL, and so on to a task that was not uploaded by mobile (mobile uploads do this automatically). To add these details click on the pencil icons located next to “Screen Title” and “Screen Information” on the top row of the Quality Assurance box.
How to Copy Page URL
Copying the Effi URL to specifically identify a task can come in handy when trying to communicate. You can copy the URL to the clipboard by clicking the light-blue URL button in the far left corner of Captured Screen box.
How To Locate OS/Device Information
OS/Device Information is automatically captured with mobile images or comments uploaded from the Effi app. This information can be found in the “Screen Information” section in the top center of the Quality Assurance tab in the uploaded task
